12 eggs in one sitting

yes, 12 eggs in one sitting, 12 quail eggs that is. We have a huge supply of these little babies right now, insted of having 1 or 2 chicken eggs fried for breakfast, you can have a dozen of these babies. I figure that it takes about 5 quail eggs to make 1 chicken egg.

more quail egg pictures. They are so cute.

Deviled Quail Eggs

Here you have it folks, Our DD, spend much time, boiling quail eggs, peeling them and then making these tiny deviled eggs for our dinner. They were so delicious and cute too. We were proud of her hard work. The best part, you can eat a half dozen of these babies and still not feel guilty.

Our first quail egg

We received our first quail egg today, three of them infact. We are very excited about it too. The quail are exactly eight weeks old and they started laying , like clockwork. So far so good.
This is a comparison in size...one quarter, one quail egg and one of our fresh chicken egg... I can't wait till we have tons of the quail eggs, cause I want to make tiny deviled eggs, just for fun!

The Ducks are growing fast

Well, it was just weeks ago, when my five new ducks arrived and here they are, almost as big a full grown ducks. It is amazing how fast they actually grow. I have loved watching them grow, and quack and swim (in their kiddy pool).
They are snacking on "their special food" here...and quacking and going on all the while. I think the ducks are super and they will make a great addition to our other 2 ducks.

Quack, Quack, Quack

Our 5 baby ducks are growing so fast. We moved them outside this weekend, cause they are such mess makers. They have a "heated" house... which is a heat lamp in a very huge dog house. They have a fenced in run that is movable.

Here is a close up of them nesting in their warm house. Aren't they cute! There are only 5 of them. Posted by Picasa
