English muffin Recipe
Simple English Muffins recipe
Simple English Muffins ingredients list:
2 cups of unbleached white flour.
1 cup of warm water.
1 cup of whole wheat flour.
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
1 tablespoon of dry yeast.
1 teaspoon of salt.
Cornmeal.
Instructions for Simple English Muffins:
In a suitably sized bowl, mix the warm water, vegetable oil, yeast and salt.Beat in the white flour, followed by the whole wheat flour; mix thoroughly.Oil the surface of the dough's surface and allow to rise for 30-40 minutes.Knead the dough until soft; then cut into six pieces and roll each piece in cornmeal.Form each ball into muffins, four inches in diameter.Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
I saw this english muffin recipe on muffinrecipes.net and decided to try them. I will let you all know how they turned our and try and post a pic too. They seem almost too easy to be good, lol!

Ok, This recipe was super easy, BUT it said to divide dough into 6 pieces to make 6 english muffins, but I divided it into 8 and they were still pretty good size. Almost too big for english muffins. The don't have tons of "big nooks and crannies" but they have a pretty nice texture and are easy enought to make, so I give it a two thumbs up. I also like the fact that this recipe didn't make "way to many" ...as I like to make my bread products fresh and hate to make to many of one thing, as the kids and hubby get tired of eating it.
